"Slip Stream 93"...the racing simulation in PC-98
Sorry for my retrospective "geeky" articles with my passions and
"auld lang syne"....for the fruition of PC-98 series as the first
and possibly only "the PC with Japanese original programming system"..
That's the "Slip Stream 93"...the series of the racing games as
semi-simulation which featured some designs of actual models
like Nissan Skyline GT-R, Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Countach,
Honda(Acura) NSX, Mazda RX-7 etc....with the incognitos for
them possibly because of some obstacle of copyrights which
costs them so expensive...just my guesstimate for that...
This game was...one of the archetypes of the Gran Turismo...
as driving simulator and Ridge Racer as drifting games...
despite the severe controls or responses of the cars in that
games....hahaha.
Moreover, it was so rare and avant-garde to see those kind
of polygonal graphics in 90's....like Virtua Racing by Sega...
Due to that "advancing" and "amazing" views...
it was flabbergasting and exciting for me to "drive the cars in the
polygonal racing moments..."
After the release of "93", the deluxe version of the former one
as Slip Stream "Rev Limit" was released...that's my first and
only one for series...which also featured some Formula 1 cars
as McLaren Honda, Williams Renault, Ferrari, and Benetton Renault...
with the incognitos for them due to the "copyrights owned by FIA..."
Weirdly, you also could drift in the course by...those F1 cars....hahaha.
Anyway, enjoy "the opening movie" of Slip Stream as retrospective
and still...exciting one for fans...!!
